 Aaron Freeman is committed to working hard for his constituents. Throughout his four years serving as our State Senator, Aaron has authored and sponsored important legislation designed to benefit the citizens of Senate District 32.​

Senate Bill 192 - Non-Consensual Pornography

Signed into law by Governor Holcomb in 2019

Aaron worked hard in the Senate in order to make sure victims of non-consensual pornography get the justice the deserve.
  • Defines ​an "intimate image"
  • Made it illegal to disclose an "intimate image" of a person without their consent
  • Allows the victim to recover up to $10,000 for damage done by non-consensual pornography

Senate Bill 233 - Business Personal Property Tax Exemption

Signed into law by Governor Holcomb in 2019

Aaron worked in the Senate to help business owners get more tax exemptions on their personal property 
  • Increases the tax exemption total from $20,000 to $40,000
  • Removed provisions in the law that allowed a county council to charge a service fee on a person that received a business personal property tax exemption

Senate Bill 203 - Crimes Resulting in the Loss of a Fetus

Signed into law by Governor Holcomb in 2018

Aaron worked hard ​in the Senate to protect the lives of unborn children by adding additional criminal charges to a person who harms a fetus.
  • The crimes of murder, voluntary manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter, and feticide, may be committed against a fetus in any stage of development
  • A person who commits a felony that causes the termination of a pregnancy may receive an additional sentence of 6 to 20 years

Senate Bill 240 - Terrorism

Signed into law by Governor Holcomb in 2019

Aaron worked hard to define terrorism in Indiana law. “Updating our code safeguards Hoosiers by giving courts the ability to prosecute those individuals who harm or intimidate others. SB 240 also equips our law enforcement with the necessary measures to protect Hoosiers"
  • Clearly defines terrorism in Indiana code
  • Aaron enabled easier prosecution of terrorism
  • ​Specifies that a person commits intimidation if they threaten an individual and the threat causes them or others to experience fear

House Bill 1284 - Justifiable Force

Signed into law by Governor Holcomb in 2019

Aaron helped sponsor House Bill 1284 in order to protect Hoosiers' 2nd Amendment rights.
  • Increased the duration of a four year handgun license to five years
  • Made it legal for a person who legally possesses a firearm to have it in a house of worship
  • Provides immunity in court for a person who uses justifiable force in certain instances
