Aaron Freeman is a community leader fighting for Hoosier values. We can count on Aaron to stand up for continued economic development and growth, empowering successful futures in the classroom for our children, keeping & creating safe neighborhoods, and protecting our tax dollars. 

Aaron believes in and will fight for limited government spending so taxpayers keep more of their hard-earned money. The government must live within its means. As our State Senator, Aaron will continue to support and listen to the voice of Hoosiers from District 32 and deliver real results.  

MEET AARON

​I have had the humble honor of representing Senate District 32 since 2016 and before then, portions of Franklin Township as the City-County Councilor of District 25. I was raised in Brookville, Indiana and decided to move to Indianapolis with my family after I completed law school. 
  
I currently serve as Chairman of the Corrections & Criminal Law Committee, and I serve on the Appropriations,  Judiciary, and Insurance and Financial Institutions Committees. I am devoted to common-sense legislation, conservative values, working hard to lower taxes for Hoosiers, creating safe neighborhoods for our citizens, and fighting for all those who live in our district. 
  
Outside the Senate, I am a small business owner, a lawyer, and a family man. Before I opened my own law firm, I was a Marion County deputy prosecuting attorney and served for six years on the Indianapolis City County Council. 
  
I am married to the love of my life, Heather, and we have two young boys. I have called Franklin Township home since 2004 and I strive to be an active member of our community.  I am passionate about Notre Dame Football and love IndyCar racing. I look forward to calling and meeting with you as I strive to earn your vote for re-election. My pledge has always been to work hard and bring conservative principles to the Indiana Statehouse where I will continue to humbly serve the citizens of Senate District 32. AARON’S PRIORITIES FOR INDIANA

Encouraging Job Creation & Development

As a small business owner, Aaron understands the challenges facing Hoosier businesses. As our State Senator, he will continue: 

  • To work to help businesses attract, expand, and retain high-wage jobs and invest in our local communities. 
  • Support policies that create a business-friendly tax environment to encourage them to create and invest in local jobs. 
  • Investing in infrastructure improvements to attract new businesses to southeast Indianapolis and Indiana as a whole. 

Protecting Your Tax Dollars

Hoosier families deserve to decide what to do with their hard-earned money and Aaron believes our government must live within its means: 

  • As State Senator, Aaron has only supported honestly balanced budgets and has repeatedly voted against costly tax increases. 
  • Aaron has, and always will, continue to support the permanent property tax caps which keep taxes low and predictable.  
  • Aaron believes Hoosier families and businesses should not be punished with higher taxes simply because they have found success by working hard and creating jobs in our communities.

Empowering Successful Futures in the Classroom

As a father of two boys, Aaron understands the significant impact a high-quality education has on the future of our children: 

  • During his days on the City-County Council, Aaron proudly supported the state’s first Pre-K program in Indianapolis. 
  • As State Senator, Aaron has continued to support effective improvements to our schools at all levels, from Pre-K through higher education. 
  • Aaron remains committed to working with our local teachers to ensure they have the support, materials, and freedom needed to best educate our children.  
  • In 2023, Aaron championed the landmark Science of Reading bill to ensure that every student is given the tools to learn to read to ensure their future is bright.

Creating Safe Neighborhoods

Aaron understands the benefits of ensuring the public safety of all Hoosiers and is passionate about keeping our streets safe: 

  • As a former Marion County deputy prosecutor, Aaron has been committed to ensuring that our most violent criminals remain behind bars.  
  • Aaron has always put public safety ahead of politics. As our State Senator, he has worked to increase public safety funding in order to combat violent crime and drug abuse. 
  • Aaron remains committed to fighting crime and keeping our neighborhoods safe.
